About strange ways

strange ways is a collection of photographs containing a mysterious intrigue of something found in the crossover between the everyday and the unexpected. In ordinary but overlooked scenes, the subject and framing hint at a narrative structure while withholding resolution. Though constructed to appear natural and spontaneous, the compositions deliberately eschew the context of a defined before and after. strange ways examines the dialogue between self and otherness.

About the Artist

Sara Diamond grew up in the limitless expanse of Los Angeles. She currently resides in San Francisco, evolving her art. She attended The School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University in Boston where she graduated with a BFA in 2010. She primarily works in photography and mixed media. Her art has been featured at many galleries and art spaces such as Google, Mountain View; Southern Exposure Gallery, San Francisco; the Harvey Milk Center for Photography, San Francisco; the David Brower Center, Berkeley; The Museum of Craft and Folk Art gift shop, San Francisco; and The Samson Gallery, Boston. Her work has been published in print and through e-publications such as SF Weekly, LA Record, Boston’s Dig Magazine, Washington City Paper, and Feature Shoot.

Sara Diamond’s strange ways is on view at Rare Device from Friday, March 4 to Tuesday, March 29.
