New work by artist Sonya Philip, fuses paper and fabric, with a variety of unconventional techniques. Sonya Philip has always made things. As a self-taught artist, she enjoys the freedom of exploring and stretching mediums. Of particular interest are all things related to textiles and fiber. Sonya lives in San Francisco with her family.
Please join us on Friday, April 3 from 6-9pm at Rare Device Divisadero as we celebrate her newest body of work, Fall Open. The artist describes the work in her own words: Repetitive shapes create an organic alphabet - a tracery of forms partly obscured and always shifting.
Refreshments will be served!
Photos above are all process photos of Fall Open and provided by the artist, Sonya Philip.
