Paper masking tape has been used industrially for over 100 years in Japan, and has since become a staple in craft projects. MT was founded in 2006 after three Tokyo women visited the Kamoi Kakoshi factory, its original manufacturer. These women introduced the company to the artistic uses for washi tape, and they were inspired to start producing it in various colors and design patterns under a new brand. MT tape can be torn by hand, and is easy to reposition or write on. The tape can be used on paper, objects, and walls. It's semi-transparent, so it can be especially pretty when layered!
