Up and Over

New Work by Rachel T Robertson

This show of new work incorporates fiber art as well as mixed media collages. Rachel’s twin passions for both art and craft come together in pieces that often integrate drawing, painting, sewing, knitting and macramé. She uses a combination of utilitarian materials and refined fibers in her hand-knit and macramé pieces, many of which incorporate pockets for plants, another of her passions.

Rachel T Robertson is an artist with equal passions for both fine art and craft. Her work runs the gamut from hand-knit wall hangings to found paper collage and richly textured fiber jewelry. Whatever she makes is infused with a rich understanding of the material and a love of the handmade.

Rachel studied Art at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has lived in San Francisco for 19 years. She works as a full-time display artist and makes her creations in her studio in the Mission.
