Places I Have Never Been is the newest gallery show featuring new paintings by Anna Joyce. The opening reception was held on August 5th, and showcases 10 medium to large gouache paintings of a woman's world that Anna created in her search for joy during the quarantine.
Attendees were treated to canned libations from our friends at Troop Beverage, while participating in a Places + Patterns Scavenger Hunt. Participants were given 8 blown up pattern images and had to locate them in the gallery pieces. Those who guessed all correctly, were put into a drawing for a copy of Anna's book, Hand Dyed: A Modern Guide to Dyeing in Brilliant Color for You and Your Home and a winner was announced at the end of the night.
Anna had the chance to talk with reception attendees as they participated in the scavenger hunt and share with them how patterns found in magazines inspired the decor in her paintings and how her cats can even be found in a couple of them
