A Year of Color & Form by Kelly Carámbula
Rare Device is pleased to announce our latest gallery show, A Year of Color & Form, by San Francisco based artist Kelly Carámbula. Kelly spent the last year rediscovering her creativity through two simple ideas: color & form. The show consists of pieces made from paper, clay, wood, and metal. The end result is a show— and a practice—demonstrating that these basic concepts have no end.
Join Kelly and the Rare Device staff on Friday evening, September 21st at Rare Device Flagship on Divisadero from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. for the opening reception. The show will be on view from Friday, September 21, 2018 - Monday, November 5, 2018.
About the Artist:
Kelly Carámbula is a San Francisco-based artist and designer. Her work explores elements of control, often incorporating surprises that encourage the viewer to look closer, longer, or from a different perspective. She is continually interested and inspired by the tactile relationships between color and form— using paper, clay, and wood as her primary mediums. She earned her BFA in Graphic Design from Western Michigan University. When she's not making art, she's usually chasing her children, searching for the best morning pastries, admiring California's incredible plant life, or dreaming of adventure.
