In a Warmer Place: A RD Staff Show
Rare Device is pleased to announce our annual employee gallery exhibition, In a Warmer Place, featuring the work of 11 artists that make up the Rare Device staff. Revolving around the color orange, the question arises, what ideas are evoked when meditating on one color? Can a color with polarizing and sometimes jarring responses inspire warmth? The result is an open-ended interpretation by each artist and a multiplicity of styles. This show touches upon hope for a brighter, more vibrant future; it characterizes possibility through not only joy but ambivalence. As a group, these artists explore what it means to move towards, and into, a warmer place. Artists include Annie Amundsen, Lauren Brunsvik, Isalina Chow, Noa Chupkov, Kayla Conyer, Giselle Gyalzen, Terry Hwang, Dave Medal, Rachel T. Robertson, Chenoa Warner, and Jenn Zipp.
Join us on Friday evening, March 8th from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Rare Device Flagship, 600 Divisadero Street, for the opening reception. The show will be on display from Friday, March 8, 2019 through Monday, April 22, 2019.
