'Funky Real Estate' by Brian Barneclo
Rare Device is pleased to announce our latest gallery show, Funky Real Estate, by San Francisco-based artist Brian Barneclo. Funky Real Estate is a floor to ceiling mosaic of paint and wood-stained birch panels. A landscape of patterns emerge from the tiles - some by design, some by chance. The title is a double entendre reference to the funky state of the San Francisco real housing market and an eye-roll to the fact that the “leader” of the nation is a real estate celebrity.
Join Brian and the Rare Device staff on Friday evening, August 3rd at Rare Device Flagship on Divisadero from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. for the opening reception. The show will be on view from Friday, August 3, 2018 - Monday, September 17, 2018.
About the Artist:
Brian Barneclo is a fine artist and muralist residing in San Francisco, California. He got his start in San Francisco's Mission and Haight Street scenes in the 1990's and '00's showing in a variety of group shows with street-art oriented curation. In June of '04, The SF Bay Guardian commissioned a 70 foot mural. Seven years later he was painting the San Francisco Bay Area's largest mural, Systems (2011 - 600' x 40'), inspired in part by Donella Meadows book Thinking In Systems . Brian has been part of the Rare Device community since 2015, when he painted our beloved mural on Hayes and Divisadero Street.
