Mis-armed and Ready Gallery Exhibition and Opening Reception
Please join us as we celebrate the opening of Noa Batle's first solo exhibition, Mis-armed and Ready at the Rare Device gallery on August 7 from 6-9pm. Show runs from August 7 - September 1, 2015.
Show Description:
The plastic soldiers I played with as a young child were objects of a simulated war that held no other purpose or use beyond their duty as play toys. They are frozen in the act of fighting. For the real soldiers that these sculptures portray, the reality is that even the most battle-hardened warrior is still a person, with a life and home to which they hope to return. These sculptures perhaps acknowledge the battle that soldiers fight off the battlefield; the fight for a normal life. — Noa Batle
