Rare Device is pleased to announce our latest gallery exhibition, Big Energy, which is a collection of work by artist Alexandra Bowman focusing on the female figure taking up space.
Alexandra’s art practice focuses on ways to celebrate women of color, friendships, and diversity. Visually, her work uses scale as a metaphor for the importance of female stories and contains a dynamic balance of graphic design and painterly elements. She is inspired by body language and Renaissance-era paintings. Her works reimagine classical poses of delicate and petite women by exaggerating the scale of these figures so that they demand attention.
