Rare Device was created to help people find beautiful, unique and functional items for individuals of all ages. With two brick and mortar stores in San Francisco–one on Divisadero and Hayes and the other on 24th Street near Castro–and a growing online shop, a career at Rare Device offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in a prominent and growing San Francisco-favorite local shop.

We strive to be the go-to walk-in and online store for gifts and personal treasures that introduces new artist talent and serves as a gathering place for the diverse communities surrounding our two stores. 1. Full-time Sales Associate


We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our team. Job responsibilities will include sales and inventory management as well as other retail store tasks that come up.

This is a full-time role that offers 40 hours per week and fluctuates between our two locations.

2. Seasonal Support Staff

We are looking for enthusiastic Seasonal Support Staff to join our team for the busy and exciting winter holiday season we have coming ahead. Job responsibilities will include sales and inventory receiving as well as other retail store tasks that come up.

These are temporary full-time and part-time roles that offers 24-40 hours per week and fluctuates between our two locations. We value our team immensely and we take each employee’s professional growth and aspirations seriously, so we work with each person to give the support and training needed to grow and excel in their role and beyond.

3. Full-time Stock Manager

The Rare Device Stock Manager is an organized, motivated doer that ensures our back stock and storage spaces are always organized and easy to navigate – a detail-oriented, systems lover who likes to work with their hands and body.

We are looking for that special someone who will manage and implement our receiving system that is passionate about everything being in its place, and is excited about the products that we carry. This person is a self-defined doer and a natural at tracking information and follow through.

This is a full-time role that offers 40 hours per week.

4. Full-time Administrative and Customer Coordinator

The Rare Device Administrative and Customer Coordinator is an organized details whiz who ensures that the management team is well supported and our customers are well cared for–a project-managing, systems lover who likes to make sure people leave us feeling satisfied and impressed.

We are looking for that special someone who will manage behind the scenes projects, that is passionate about organizing, planning, and clear communication. This person is a self-defined doer and a natural at multi-project management.

This is a full-time role that offers 40 hours per week.

5. Community & Art Department Organizer

The Community & Art Department Organizer is a supportive and organized individual that ensures our gallery and events are well-organized, well-attended, welcoming, and engaging–an expert at building and maintaining genuine relationships and a whiz at staying organized and creating systems.

We are looking for that special someone who will manage our gallery and events who is passionate about helping us become the go-to place in the community for events relating to craft, art, and design. This person is a self-defined people-person–able to gain trust and represent Rare Device in the community.

As our Community & Art Department Organizer you do not need to know our exact systems before you start, but you need to be detail-oriented, highly organized and very personable. People who are not self-starters, not flexible, not open to feedback, nor great communicators need not apply. You are meant for this role if you are a detail-oriented and organized problem-solver with a strong interest in and appreciation for art and aesthetics. You are also a natural at building relationships and supporting other people’s work.
