If you are an artist or artisan looking for an opportunity to showcase your work, I have very good news for you:
The 43rd Annual KPFA Craft Fair that will be taking place at the Concourse in San Francisco on December 14 & 15, 2013. But you have to act fast, the deadline to submit an application is this week, on Thursday, the 22nd. (Ed: we just got word that submissions have been extended to August 28).
Not only is this a great opportunity, but it may well be the last time for anyone to participate in this fair. Apparently 2013 will be the last year it will be at the Concourse, and according to the people in charge, the plans of returning at this or any other location is up in the air. So, to celebrate the fair's last year, there is a special two-for-one package for tickets: buy one ticket for $10 and one guest gets in for free (also: anyone under 17 is welcome to attend for free). The fair will feature the original work of 200 exhibitors, a sprawling food court, live on-air broadcast on KPFA 94.1 FM, plus free continuous shuttles to/from the Civic Center BART Station on both days.
So if you are an independent artist, you can find the application here. If you aren't an artist but know someone who is, please spread the word, and even save the date to check out the fair for yourself when it comes in December. You can find more information about the fair on their site here.
