It's a lovely, not-foggy day (a little rare for this part of August) and here's what's going on at Rare Device. Please note that we will be CLOSED from August 18 through September 1 for a little spring cleaning and refresh of the store.
The art next door...
Matthew Brannon gives us "To Say the Very Least", a collection of work that makes me think more than a little bit of this year's popular TV show Mad Men. The DAP catalog states: These texts, with their hint of literary genres tinged by noir, are little melodramatic scenarios of success and failure, careerism and alcoholism, substance abuse and sexual misadventure. Each set of prints stages Brannon's principal question, "Why are people their own worst enemies?"
And then there is Henry Darger. The word inappropriate comes to mind here too, but in a much different fashion! See these books and more at Rare Device. We'll get them into the webshop shortly.
