Today, both shops got a box from Australia filled with handmade journals from studiomatador. "Unfinished and Unpublished" is a limited edition collection of notebooks created in collaboration between studiomatador and international artists and designers. We have ordered different styles for SF and BK just to keep things interesting! We'll have them in the webshop this afternoon.
What I really like about these journals is the care taken in the creation, concept and even packaging. For instance, the binding I believe is chain stitch, it is a unique way to create a sturdy notebook that lays completely flat, which is essential for sketching. (In fact, you can bend the covers all the way around so they touch!)
The limited edition ones come boxed, stickered and numbered and make a beautiful gift. There are a few not-limited notebooks with a cool, minimalist black on black designed cover, too.
